Body-Neutral Measurement Guide
Our measurement guide is designed to work for all bodies. Follow these steps to get accurate measurements that will help you find your perfect WBWDB fit.
Before You Start
What You'll Need:
- Soft measuring tape (fabric, not metal)
- A mirror or friend to help
- Form-fitting clothes or undergarments
- Pen and paper to record measurements
General Tips:
- Stand naturally with good posture
- Keep the tape snug but not tight
- Breathe normally while measuring
- Measure twice to ensure accuracy
Chest/Torso Measurement
Measure around the fullest part of your chest/torso area
Step-by-step:
- 1Wrap the tape measure around your body at the widest point of your chest
- 2Keep the tape parallel to the floor
- 3Breathe normally and don't hold your breath
- 4The tape should be snug but not tight - you should be able to slide a finger underneath
For all bodies: This measurement works for all body types and chest configurations
Natural Waist
Find your natural waistline for the most accurate measurement
Step-by-step:
- 1Bend to one side - where your body naturally creases is your waist
- 2This is usually the narrowest part of your torso
- 3If you don't have a defined waist, measure at your most comfortable point
- 4Stand naturally and measure where you would wear a belt comfortably
For all bodies: Every body has a natural waist point, even if it's not dramatically defined
Hip Measurement
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat
Step-by-step:
- 1Stand with feet together
- 2Measure around the widest part of your hips/seat area
- 3This is usually 7-9 inches below your natural waist
- 4Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor
For all bodies: This measurement captures your lower body proportions regardless of body shape
Inseam Length
Measure from your crotch to where you want the garment to end
Step-by-step:
- 1Use a pair of well-fitting pants as a reference
- 2Measure from the crotch seam down to the hem
- 3For new measurements, stand against a wall and measure from crotch to floor
- 4Subtract desired hem length from floor measurement
For all bodies: This measurement ensures proper length regardless of leg proportions
Special Considerations
Chest Binding Considerations
If you bind your chest, we recommend measuring both with and without your binder to ensure the best fit for how you plan to wear the garment.
Shapewear Considerations
If you regularly wear shapewear or compression garments, measure while wearing them to ensure your WBWDB pieces fit comfortably over your preferred undergarments.
Prosthetics & Padding
For those who use breast forms, padding, or prosthetics, measure while wearing them to ensure your clothing fits your presented silhouette.

Yes, our sizes are designed to be true to size based on the measurements provided. However, fit can vary based on personal preference, body shape, and how you prefer your clothes to fit.
I have different measurements for different parts of my body. What should I do?
This is completely normal! Focus on the measurement that's most important for the specific garment. For tops, prioritize chest measurement. For bottoms, focus on waist and hip measurements. When in doubt, size for your largest measurement and consider alterations if needed.
Can I exchange if the size doesn't fit?
We want you to feel amazing in your WBWDB pieces. Our exchange policy will be available at launch with easy returns and exchanges.

I use binding or shapewear. How should I measure?
